Imagine you are giving advise to a close friend who is under a great deal of stress at home. What strageties would you recommend to your friend to handle the stress?

The best way to deal with stress is to go out with ur friends and talk, laugh have good times...

Meditation is relaxing, and it really helps if it is done on a regular basis, it really does calm your mind, (I did it b4, and it made me NICER, and calmer)...meditating controls how u breath, which is very calming, just like smoking, except that meditating doesnt RISK U TO HAVE CANCER...

The best way to be a friend, is to acknowledge the friends situation. For example, "it sounds like you are really stressed out, and this must be really hard for you right now". "Its ok to feel stressed, and its ok to have a hard time with things". As a friend offer to be there to listen and talk about things - not "fix them". Your friend will need to figure the answers out for themself so that the change will be meaningful and your friend can "own" their choice. Help to point out the options available to your friend, but dont make the decision for them. Why you ask? Because if you provide the choice and it works, it will be because you told them to do so. If the choice does not work, you will be the reason things got worse, and your friendship will suffer. It can be hard when our friends are hurting, and is is natural to want to help and natural to want to fix. Help by acknowledging your friends feelings and situation and help to identity all the possible options available. Best of luck, it sounds like you really care about your friend, just do the best you can !

Well depending on the home situation..there can be management such as to talk to his parents about what's wrong.to be on the phone with you or other friends..internet..tv..writting,music or just be away from the house for some time.
But the best strategy is to deal with the cause of the stress,perphaps just by sharing things with you would do it.

Listen to them..to vent their feeling.sometime they just to let go.Tell them that you will pray for their guideness.and you are there for them.
