Would this be ok?

My fiance has an 8 month old son named Aidyn Layne.. When we have a child, if it's a girl I want to name her Addyson Lynn. I love the name Addyson and Lynn is one of good friends' middle name, but would it be stupid to have the names go together if they are only half-siblings? Oh and my fiance's ex-wife wrote in a survey that if she ever had a girl she liked the name Addison!! What do ya'll think?

For Heather: We're getting married in July..we've been together for almost a year...his ex-wife was 5 months pregnant when we started dating and they mutually separated before they found out she was pregnant. She was about 6 or 7 weeks pregnant when they found out. we are all on good terms (mother, father, and me).He won't leave me, I guarantee it!

Go ahead and name her what you want. Aidyn and Addyson are different enough to make the children feel unique, and yet similar enough to make them feel connected. No problems are all with naming half-siblings matching names because they are still siblings!

As for the bit with the ex-wife, I think it's only ok if you have your daughter first! Otherwise don't 'steal' her name. My father actually had a (younger) half brother with the same EXACT name as him. First, middle, and last. However they were not raised together as my grandmother stopped talking to my grandfather when they divorced. Everyone just kind of laughed at my grandfather's second wife for being stupid and petty enough to steal my dad's name for her son and no one took it seriously. So you'll make yourself look bad even if you aren't doing it to bother her. But if you have your daughter first, no reason not to use the name!

Addyson Lynn is such a cute name and it goes well with Aidyn Lane. When u have a child part of the joy is you can it what ever you want (For people who name their kids names like apple it maybe isnt such a joy for the kids!! LOL) The only time i would say dont name your baby the name you love is if your man's Ex actually does have a baby girl and call it Addison cos that would be silly!!!

Very beautiful!!! But, if his ex-fiance has a girl before you all, then don't name her Addyson.....not good! But, if u have a girl before her, you have all the right to name your daughter Addyson Lynn....which is very pretty by the way.....and no, I don' think it's wrong for their names to relate even though they're half sibiling!!

Addyson Lynn sounds great, and its fine to go with him, even if they are only half siblings. They are still siblings. Who cares about the ex wife...You can name your baby what you want and hopefully get that chance before she does.

I like the name Addyson, but I would spell it Addison. I don't like it when people put a y in the middle of a name, like Jessyca or Abbygail, I think it looks weird, but that is just my opinion, you should spell it whatever way you want!

I think the name Addison Lynn is beautiful, don't be concerned about the Ex...her future children and their names have no meaning to you and your family. I think Aidyn and Addison would be adorable!! Go for it!

Cmon its your kid!!! Name her whatever u want. Addyson lynn is so gorgeous and i think itd b really cute 4 them 2 have similar names. I have half brothers and sisters and i treat them like they're full, so that doesnt really matter.

i think that addyson lynn is a beautiful name and you should go with it. everyone is on good turns and even though the kids would be 1/2siblings they are still going to become family.
i say go with it.
