People who are active tend to have less total stress because they relieve stress through their activities.
Ste's is the body's reaction to a demanding situation. Anything that causes you to get worried or get excited could cause stress. Not all stressful experiences are considered harmful. Scientists use the term eustress to describe "good stress". Activities that might produce eustress include roller coaster, meeting new people, acting in the school play, or participating in an athletic event.
Unpleasant situations also cause stress or distress. Worrying, sorrow, anger, or physical pain would produce distress.
You need a balance in the right amount of stress. Too much can cause you to burn out; avoiding stress would prevent you from participating in some very rewarding activities.
Common reactions to stress include feeling upset or nervous, criticizing others, irritability, depression, withdrawal, or boredom, overeating or loss of appetite, substance abuse.
You can make an effort to manage the stress in your life. Examples include: rest in a quiet place; use exercise to relieve stress; identify the cause of the stress; deal with one problem at a time; accept what cannot be changed; think positively. Also eat nutritiously, avoid unnecessary distressful situations, get enough sleep, and have fun.

Go HOME to MY HOME -- that is FINALLY just for ME -- an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree, and KNOWING that NO ONE ELSE is there to bother, stress me out, damage anything, and I DO NOT Have to OPEN the door to ANY ONE at all UNLESS I want to -- and I do NOT open that door!

Then ... it is off to keep working on my home renovations -- and that is one way I am Destressing and working all the bad memories and feelings OUT of my life -- each piece of junk, nasty carpet, broken baseboard out the door is another thing that I would RATHER not have in my life being removed -- permanently. That is how I am dealing with stress --- putting its memory into an inanimate object that I am going to toss out anyway, and just REMOVING it permanently from the home.

Play on the computer for awhile. Or maybe throw glass objects at the walls. And heave heavy objects over the balcony on passersby.
