it's a crime that you report. So, no, don't report him unless you are prepared for him to be arrested for it. Then, you still have to prove your case in court, but hopefully that won't be too hard for you in this case.
I think I would just warn him that if he ever does it again, you WILL report him. Because if you don't, he can mess up your life, your credit, your drivers license, etc.
Also, if you ever do decide to report him, tell him ahead of time and ask him to be honest with the judge, via his lawyer, and show remorse, and this could help to greatly reduce his penalty.
Protect yourself first, give a guy a chance, but NEVER TOO MANY.

If you don't report this event what happens next? He will more and likely continue this behavior and then you will end up with a long rap sheet. If you don't report this all you are doing is enabling his behavior and he will continue. Taking a stand and telling the truth is the a way to stop enabling.
You know that you need to do the right thing but, it is hard because it is your brother. Realize this you are not helping by lying for him.
Was there drugs or alcohol a part of this wreck? If so all you are doing is an easy fix not a long term fix. Think this through! But I feel you know in heart what you have to do.
Good Luck

Since he was in an accident and used your ID, then you're responsible for his actions until you prove it wasn't you. The only way to do that is REPORT HIM. Obviously he don't care if you get arrested for his mistakes. Did he have to go to Court over the accident, did he? If not, who's name is on Arrest Warrant?
You need to report this whole situation to the Police. Or just wait, maybe he'll come down and bail you out.

How much do you love him? Enough to go to jail for him? Whatever it takes, clear up this mess and let him take responibility fo his own actions. Get yourself out of trouble!! A drivers' license is not just a drivers' license any more; it is a document that your whole existence depends on.

If he is too young to have a driver's license, they are not likely to put him in prison. I think you should face him yourself, and if you report him, tell him what you are doing and why.

I'm not sure what they would do to him but it is pretty sure they will take points from your liscense and sooner or later will find out the difference anyway.
Clear things up now before it looks like it's the other way around!
Look, I know he's your brother but he did something wrong. He used you to get himself out of trouble and he dumped it on you. You really need to set this thing right. He needs to learn to stand on his own two feet and take the rap for his own mistakes so if not for yourself, then report it for your brother's sake.

i would report it that you did not have the accident and let the chips fall where they may.
you're brother should not have used your dl as when you get insurance it would show on your record that you had the accident. it's bad enough that strangers steal your identity but your own brother? i would wonder what other things he has done but put you in the line of fire?

You should report it. If there was an accident, more likely then not, someone is going to sue--and if it's your license he used--then guess who's going to be on the receiving end of that suit. (YOU!) I know it's upsetting, but he made his own bed. He needs to learn to take responsibility for himself. Maybe this incident will help him to grow up.

What kind of a brother are you if you don't teach him he has to step up and accept responsiblity for what he has done? What would you do if he murdered someone with your ID? Would go pay the price to save him?? Do the right thing...report it!
