I need to translate part of the story of Perseus from latin into English. There's one sentence that I absolutely cannot get, mostly because I do now know all of the words. Can anyone translate:
"Avus Persei propter oraculum eum timebat et consilium cepit quo poterat eum adhuc infantem *** matre interficere."?

Thank you sooooo much! I'll award the best translation with the points.

er... the word after "infantem" is c.u.m without the dots... the word censor doesn't speak latin.

Roughly translated, it goes something like this:

The grandfather of Perseus was fearing him on account of the oracle, and he took up a plan by which he was able to kill him even now, an infant with his mother.

They used to take away at birth an unwanted newborn baby and leave it out exposed to die, and here the grandfather has some plan to do away with Perseus even though he was not taken away from his mother when he was first born.

propter is a prep + acc meaning on account of, because of
oraculum looks like orator, although that's technically orator, oratoris m., so maybe not
eum means him, it
timebat is imperfect tense meaning to fear, be afraid
et is and
consilium might be to consult, but I'm not entirely sure
quo is an adv meaning where...to?
poterat means (he/she/it) was able, could
adhuc means still
matre could be mother but I'm not sure

uuummm........okay. Tell me if this sounds right. I actually translated...

Greed and Cleverness caused by a prophecy will topple fear for indeed he intentionally sees where power is.

I really hope this was right.
