No, man-made diamonds are just diamonds made under artificial conditions. A diamond is highly compressed carbon.
Cubic zirconia is something else entirely. They are confused because cubic zirconia looks like a diamond and sparkles like a diamond and can be cut to resemble a diamond.
That said, it is not an actual diamond.

There are many man-made diamonds that are much closer to a diamond than a cubic zirconia these days. Labs have found ways to duplicate the appearance of a real diamond without the cost of paying for one.

No a man made diamond is the same chemical proprieties as a natural diamond. Its carbon compressed under great pressure and heat. A cubic zaconian is another thing altogether.

Yes.Cubic zirconia is so optically close to diamond that only a trained eye can easily differentiate the two. There are a few key features of CZ which distinguish it from diamond, some observable only under the microscope or loupe.
