Well u may not tthink it was the best movie, but u can't argue with ticket sales. The movie is the top grossing movie(that means its made the most money) of all time.
I watched it on TV on Saturday and Sunday and fell in love with Titanic, My heart will go on, and Leornardo DIcaprio. Its got everything a movie needs-- romance, drama, a little humor, and rockin' actors!
I'm SHOCKED when ppl say the movie sucks. It is an excellent movie, but i do think some of the $200million it took to make the movie could have gone to charity or africa......
Tell me your opinion!

I think it was ok as far as a romantic movie is concerned. But for those of us (myself included) that went in to the theater to watch Titanic, expecting it to me more about the actual ship & the voyage, it was an extreme disappointment. I'm sure there are others out there like me that were disappointed in the fact that the storyline revolved more around the romance of the two main characters than the historical value of the entire story. It may be the highest grossing movie of all time (at this point), but that doesn't mean it's the most popular. It just means that millions of people went to watch it, it doesn't mean that every single person that went to watch it enjoyed it. Also like someone else said, what does Africa have to do with anything? If you want some of the profit to go to a charity, it would make more sense for it to go to a museum that houses some of the artifacts from Titanic.

To Add: Gone With the Wind is by far my favorite movie of all time.

Titanic was a very somber film, one of the best in a decade. No one could've directed it better than James Cameron.

That's sad. There's so many other films that should be titled "the best movie ever." One film that comes to mind is "Goodfellas."
