ln(3) + ln(x - 4) = ln(x + 2)
ln(3(x - 4)) = ln(x + 2)
3x - 12 = x + 2
2x = 14
x = 7

Ln 3 + ln (x-4) = ln (3(x-4)) = ln (3x - 12) = ln(x+2)

so 3x-12 = x + 2

3(x-4)=x+2
3x - x = 12+2

2x= 14
