Doing a paper for class on why people like to read books?

Question

if any one care to answer please tell me why you like to read, what appeals to you , what type(s) of books you like to read and why, where you get your reading material from, what books you dislike, what genre appeals to you, how do you decide on what you read, what other type of other reading material do you read, how often do you read

(prepare for corny-ness) Reading takes me to another place--I don't have to deal with stressful school, or my parents, or my annoying little sister. It's entertaining...plus reading really does make you smarter. I mostly like to read fiction...I rarely have the patience or interest one needs to dedicate themselves to a non-fiction work that is often boring. I decide on what to read by the little synopsis they give on the back of the book...if it interests me, or if it's about a topic I enjoy, or if someone else recommends it to me. I try to read as often as I can---at least once a day, before I go to sleep. It helps me wind down. I also like to read magazines...I hate to admit that they're Entertainment Weekly and People...but again, they don't let me have to think about myself, I get distracted with *sometimes* interesting things.
