If the answers above aren't enough, these days you can buy silver jewelry cleaner which is liquid and comes in a plastic jar. You just drop the jewelry into it for a very short time, then remove, rinse in warm water, and wipe with a soft cloth. It works quite well, and it isn't polish--it's a clear liquid.

Place a sheet of foil in the bottom of a glass pan, pour a little baking soda on the foil, add about 1/2 inch deep water into the glass pan. Place your silver jewelry onto the foil. It will clean it very quickly.

old fashioned colgate tooth paste, the paste not the gels. wet your hands, put some tooth paste in the palm of your hand and wash the necklace. Also try a bowl with white vinegar and salt, add necklace for a few minutes then rinse in water. Some people put aluminum foil in the bottom of a bowl, then vinegar and a teaspoon of salt and put necklace in for a minute.

i clean my jewels with the James Avery cleaning cloths. they are good, durable, remove all the grime and dirt and give it a polished look!plus the cloth does not cost that much and it lasts you a good amount of time! another thing that i know that people do is to use a toothbrush and liquid detergent that you use the dishes with to clean their jewels and give them luster!
