Whenever I can't decide I go to my old standbys. The artists and songs I NEVER tire of. (sorry to end sentence with a prep) lol

Yes, of course! Some days I wake up with my mind filled with songs-- just bits and pieces of them that float in and out of my brain... It's cool by pretty confusing. I end up trying to "wipe" my mind clean.
I get out of that state by just listening to music... I'll start out with my favorites, or whichever one is first... Then, I go down the list until my hunger for music is satiated.
Afterwards, I'm in a sort of euphoria because I was taken to the world of music... :-)

Yes there are. I like to fall asleep listening to a CD. Some nights it's hard to choose.

its more that i sometimes have a tendency to 'overlisten' to songs and get tired of them. sometimes its hard to find the song to take the previous one's place. i have my safety artists: elvis costello, bowie, morrissey, sinatra, dylan, seger, velvet underground, and lennon. but sometimes i feel like i have listened to everything in their catalog. so i try to branch out into more 'earcandy' areas: muse, spoon, blur, pulp, etc. still, i always return to my favorites. the classics simply never get old. though sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder :)

When this happens, I pull out the old uncommon records and hit the b-sides.
