Hi there, I'm a 35 year old female from Ontario Canada. I had my tubes tied for 12 years and had a reversal done November of 2005. It took me 3 months to get pregnant after the reversal, I'm due to have Jr. in 2 weeks. C-section will be done Dec 15th. The reversal is no longer a non-elective surgery here in Canada which means we had to hand out $3000 to a doctor and hospital to have this done. I personally researched for a doctor in my area. Some doctors were charging up to $6000 to have this non-elective surgery done!! I also looked into the doctors success rate and the doctor we chose had a %90 success rate. Which to me, is pretty damn good. I went to my family doctor and had him refer me to Dr.Jim and I was put on a waiting list to have this surgery done. They told me at the time (end of October) that it could be up to a year wait for the surgery and I was called a week later to go in 2 days later for the surgery. It was an uncomfortable surgery, but well worth it. I had my worries of not being able to conceive, but like I said before, 3 months later and *BAM* there I was pregnant. I did one bout of Chlomid and that was all it took. Good luck with your research and if you do have the surgery Good luck with that as well.... :o) P.S: I did research on the internet.

When looking to have a reversal you must first find out what kind of ligation you had. Some can not be reversed. If you had the pomeroy which is most common it can most likey be reversed, depending on what amount of tube is removed. Any TR Doctor will want a copy of your surgical report to make a decision as to whether or not you are a good canidate. Keep in mind that it may not work and it is very expensive. Insurance usually will not cover it. It has worked for many women. And for some The tubes will block with scar tissue after surgery. Age is another factor and the length of time since the TL . (you fit into both) There are many web sites out their that deal with this subject. Along with supportive women who have been where you are now. Many of them have been successful . Unfortunatly so many women regret having their tubes tied. There are also many Dr.s that will perform TR's Just type in Tubal Reversals in the search web space. IVF is another option, the younger you are the better the odds. I would research both and meet with fertility specialists to determine which would be better for you.
