Based on the number of murders each year versus the number of murder convinctions I'd say that quite a few of them do in fact get away with it.

Unfortunately, quite a few get away with it. One of my closest friends was killed over 14 years ago and his killer has never been caught. Based on what I've seen, the odds of a killer being caught drop dramatically if the killer isn't identified in the first day or so, which is why homicide detectives spend so much effort trying to crack cases immediately when they happen.

unfortunately, about 80% do get away with murder, even when tried with overwhelming evidence. OJ is but one example, sorry to say. If most murders were not committed by family or those close to the victim, far fewer cases would be solved. Good luck

Half of all crimes go unsolved because the cops are stupid. Many criminals turn themselves in making the job easier for the stupid cops.Poor little jon benet ramsey was killed and the cops could not find the killer even though there where no foot prints in the snow, hhmmm maybe the killer is still in the house dumb cops couldn't figure it out, maybe the mother or father did it.

Murderers usually get caught, sometimes they get away with it. Usually they're not thinking and often kill in the "heat of passion". Why did you post this in the LGBT category?

No they don't. Lots of murders and other serious crimes are never solved.
Even if they are tried they might get off for lack of evidence.
But it better to let 10 guilty men go free than to wrongfully send one to prison.
Its the American way and its not perfect but it is the most just thing we can do.

They don't always get caught but rarely is there anyone, murderers included, that commit a crime thinking that they will get caught.

Murder is one of the easiest of crimes to solve as 98% of the time the Murderer and Victim are know to each other. Hitman killings, Drive by killings and serial Killers are not so easy to catch as there's no link./

Many murders are not pre-meditated and are a crime of passion (either love or hate). Unfortunately, there are many unsolved murders with a large minority (30-45% depending on location) that remain unsolved.

They don't always get caught. I can name four murders in my neighborhood that the police have never solved.
