From waking up to going back to bed, keeping completely silent but otherwise registering your relatives and co-workers, and strangers with nods, smiles, and other non-verbals. What do you think would come of it?

Well actually I've done that before, for the 40 hour famine you don't have to just not eat and you can give up anything you love doing so I did and all that happened was people paid me out for anything they could think of because I couldn't say anything back. All fun and games of course. But it was an interesting experience, almost really lonely.
I think if you were going to do it you should tell people before-hand because they deserve to know, otherwise you'll come across as inconsistent etc. And if your work requires you to speak, then do it on a weekend because it's your job!

I believe that people would be put off and a bit confused. However, I believe the greater experiment would be completely no communication verbally or otherwise. What do you think?

They would probably think that I was botherd by something. Even when I am quiet for 5 minutes everyone asks what is wrong with me. Because I usually talk alot. -Thats an interesting question by the way.

i guess i should ask myself first if im gonna be able to do that. not that im talkative but simply because it's hard to reach without sayimg anything. not unless everything i do is bias, & dont need response.
Verbal language is essential in our everyday life. idealistically speaking, it's not coz you would say action speaks louder than words. But we've gone a long way from the stone age.. it's not barbaric not to say anything. but less warm to say nothing at all in a day. it would be such a wasted day.

If a tree falls in the woods and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? What if there were allot of people watching the tree fall but it didn't make any sound, what then. People would probably freak out. That's my answer. LOL

well for one i never stop talking..lol.. but it's funny i can answer this question because a week ago i lost my voice because of strep throat. from waking up to going to sleep i said no word. when my husband got home he freaked and thought i was mad at him. my kids went wild because i couldn't yell at them. (5,3,2).. i was so mad that i couldn't talk that every one thought i was mad at them.. it was probably one of my worst days all year..

this was a great question by the way......

The abjects you know nothing of who premeditatedly are placed or place themselves in your path would be instructed to provoke you. Like the low lifes here in Monterey, California.

THAT'S USUALLY MY GOAL for the day... from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed.
