Global warming is mostly caused by humans because we release carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere by burning wood, driving cars, burning other fossil fuels etc.
use this site for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming . Even though it's wikipedia, it's got accurate information.

We are not really sure if mankind is the biggest contributor, but we certainly contribute a huge amount! Our burning of fossil fuels, and the huge heat energy released, is a debilitating factor! Man seems incapable of cleaning his act up! Our way of life on this planet seems to be set on mechanical aids to help us achieve an even greater waste of natural resources thus turning us into a throw-away society. If we even stopped making plastic wrapping that we cover our goods in, the sheer amount of energy we use in that process alone! Is colossus! The impact on global warming would be reduced considerably! also the burning off of our forests and jungle clearings, is a very big contributing factor to global warming. The smoke from these burnings can be seen far out in space! However! We still have to consider the impact on global warming from volcano's and other natural phenomena such as lighting strikes causing bush fires around the world, so man is not the only culprit! But at least he can do something about it! Nature cannot!

Global warming is caused by humans because if it is a natural phenomenon we can not create laws or demand government grants to research it. Just like scientists thought man was causing global cooling in the 70's and drew up plans to dump tons of coal dust on the ice caps to help warm the earth( http://phonkee.pbwiki.com/f/coolingworld.pdf ). If the earth warmed and cooled in natural cycles many people would be out of a job, that just could not do.
If man is not changing the global climate, many people would be out of a job, that is why it can not be nature.

Greenhouse gas emissions. The CO2 (carbon monoxide) emitted by gasoline powered engines pollutes the air, creating a layer that rising heat can not penetrate. The thicker the layer, the more heat is trapped. Global warming is created entirely by humans because we have produced more CO2 in the last 100 years that was there since time began.

We are ACCELERATING it. (warming and cooling trends are what the Earth does- we go from Ice Ages to 'Swamp' Ages)Since we showed up here we have been planting rice paddies (the first 'crops' plus huge co2 emitters anyway- in NO WAY RACIAL), clearing forests for land use to build ancient and then modern civilizations, then in the last two centuries we have been burning more and more fossil fuels and cutting down more and more trees (natures only defense against all the extra co2) in our quest of industry, transportation and urban dwelling. We have thrown the balance way off- I think it's pretty hard to deny that humans haven't severely changed the landscape of the planet.

The pollutioin that we cause thickens the atmosphere, which traps in more of the sun's UV rays than nature wants. You should watch the movie An Inconvienent Truth by Al Gore

The theory that it is caused by humans is...
The carbon being released from our burning of fossil fuels has caused heat to be trapped in our planet. 'They' say that since the fuels have been trapped under ground for millions of years that the earth is not capable of handling the increased atmospheric carbon. Where as if you burn ethanol, that carbon came from a plant and in theory will return to a plant(cycle of life). The carbon from fuel has no where to return too.
I don't agree but who am I?

the simplest reason is because humans pollute the earth and it damages the ozone layer and the harmful UV Rays from the sun passes through the hole in the ozone layer and causes global warming.

well when us humans make too much harmful gases like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, and give out nasty fumes (like from our cars and smokes from our factoies) itcreates thick layer around th earth
....well i ll try explain it like this
say you have a greenhouse......when the sun and heat comes in it gets warmer and warmer....now this is like the earth when the sun reaches the earth the earth gets warmer....that it good, but all the gases are making a film around our earth (like the glass in the green house that stops the heat getting out but letting more heat come in!) this traps some of the heat inside our earth. 9some will get out but some will stay) over time more and more heat is being trapped inside our atmosphere making the over all temperature rise....this makes anthing that i s ice melt, making the sea rise....
sorry im not that good at explaining it would be better if i could have drawn you a picture!!!!
hope your debate goes well
good luck:-)

I think it has to do with the pollution which increases levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
