Please explain how the military is failing against "poorly armed freedom fighters." The Taliban are getting schwacked at every turn. The had to resort to IEDs because they lose every stand up fight. They cannot hold ground. They attack civilians because they cannot attack the military. The DOD is doing its job and doing it well. Where you could say it is failing is that is trying to do nation building which is actually the Department of State's job. The DOD is overwhemingly successful at its roles as defined by the Constitution and US Code, the State Department is another matter. But as a Bieber fan, all of that that may be beyond your understanding.
