1) Wash your hands

2) Get a clean cloth, or preferably, sterile gauze.

3) Lie down with your head elevated.

4) Apply direct pressure (using the clean cloth or gauze) directly on the bleeding site. DO THIS FOR A FULL 15 MINUTES. Use a clock, and avoid pulling off the cloth/gauze to 'peek' and see if the bleeding has stopped.

You can put some ice on it to stop the bleeding, but unless the end of your tongue got bit off or something, don't be too worried about it. The tongue is the quickest healing organ in your body, and by tomorrow morning if not sooner, you won't even know you bit it.

There's actually an artery in your tongue and you can kill yourself by cutting it. If you bit it that hard and the blood is flowing, not just constantly bleeding, I'm talking FLOWING, call an ambulence. If it just won't stop, gross dry toilet paper and pressure.

Try sugar on the wound. If the bleeding is serious I'd head for the nearest hospital emergency room if I were you.

you drink the blood, no seriously, just keep drinking it, it'll go away over night, but you might have a small bump or something the next morning but that'll clear up in like a day or two

Ice. If will stop eventually. Take some ibuprofen. Hope you feel better!

You can't, it will heal by itself. If it's too bad, then first rinse it out, and then find something to cover it. A piece of ice will work fine, however.
