Why isn't NCAA college baseball as popular as the other two NCAA football & basketball ?

I would have to blame Minor League Baseball and the money that can be earned from signing a Minor League contract. A lot of players opt to no go to college and sign the minor league contracts because they can make Millions guaranteed out of high school.

Because the star power and talent level is diminished, the discrepancy in quality within college baseball is actually very startling between schools. Some like how games are high scoring like 18-7 but the best games in all sports are close ones not blowouts. There are a many schools who always remain baseball powerhouses while other schools consistently actually have little chance of ever fielding an elite team. Thus, college baseball is not even nationally televised and even adds to a cyle of obscurity and lack of interest. Not even the College World Series title game is televised anymore.

Basketball and Football's "Minor League" is college athletics.

Again, blame the Minors and the money that they have.

Because you don't see them as often unless during the College World Series. But that's it!!! And you don't here anything about stars or anything until the MLB Draft. Also NCAA Baseball doesn't have anything in relation to the Bowl Games(NCAA Football) or like March Madness(NCAA Basketball).

Bottom line...exposure. College basketball can be found on several stations nearly evry night...March Madness is hyped to the max (and rightly so, very fun and energizing) and football also can be found on T.V. nearly every night (who would have guessed even 3 years ago that you could see a college football game live on tuesday night?) Baseball gets almost no national T.V. exposure and unlike the other 2 sports the baseball games are mostly regionalized. And I think there is a certain fan disconnect because of aluminum bats, star power and instant celebrity.

My best answer would be because of the Star Power. We are able to see the college basketball, and football players move on to the pros right after they are done with college. Another reason may be the postseason. Football has great bowls games every year, and there is no time of the year greater than March Madness.

I appreciate your support Sports fan

El Diablo got it exactly. College baseball players won't be playing in the majors for at least 5 years (usually). College football players will be playing the next year, and same with college basketball players. And El Diablo is also right, that there are great bowl games, and March Madness is huge here!

Easy answer, baseball is a slower moving game so when a player makes an error (and believe me, minor league and NCAA players commit a lot) it is very apparent. In football and basketball an "error" may occur but there is so much going on that in one minute it will be forgotten because three plays have since occured.

Lots of reasons. Most of the best talent skip college and go st8 to the minors. Its a lot easier to get excited for 1 Saturday game then it is a whole bunch of baseball games. Baseball players come out of no where to become good, you never know who will be a good pro, like a Piazza who was drafted in the 30 th round, but in hoops and football you pretty much know who is going to the pros. In baseball youre watching a bunch of nobodies mostly. plus a lot of the good players are coming internationally now.

I find little to disagree with diablo and sportsfan on about this. It really is a shame. College baseball is great to watch: higher scores than MLB, players there for the love of the game, and the chess-match that a good game really is.

Watching U Miami, Cal-Ful, FSU, USC, and Texas is absolutely exhilerating!!!
