Excellent question. I agree with some of the answers already so I will try not to to repeat so I will add my thoughts, so bare with me.
Freedom of Speech is suppose to be 100 percent in the USA- however, values are being debated- How can one honestly live and expect freedom when certain politicians aren't?! It's a phrase that focuses attention on human interaction.

When other people's civil liberties are endangered. People in the military can't publicly denounce the president even if they are very adamant about it. Because that could be considered treasonous. Because they took an oath to uphold the Constitution. But do they tell you that when you enlist? NO.

Always but speech is supposed to chalenge preconceptions, chalenge thinking, and stir the mind. Whats really scary is when reporters tell what terrorist do and can do to kill more people. I even saw one say to another, Should we really be saying this on tv.
