I'm 16 and my boyfriend is 20. we got caught having sex and he got arrested. now he's getting out and suppousedly being put on probation but we don't know yet. is there anything i can do to help him get out of trouble? i already told the cops it was consensual....but is there any thing else that can be done?

I'm not sure...4 years makes it statutory rape, consenting or not.

Your boyfriend committed the crime of seduction for having sex with a minor even if you admitted that it was consensual. An adult should not engage in sex with a minor under the law even if it was consensual. The law may be hard but it is the law. The only mitigating cirscumtance in this case is to prove that the sex was consensual for you to help him.

This is a strict liability offense. It doesn't matter if you consented.
