They are not sure. I believe it is. I have endo and most of my older female relatives have had reproductive problems their entire lives.

Yes endometriosis is hereditary

It hasn't been proven as a fact yet that it is hereditary however there is strong indications that there is links that show it is a great chance that it will occur again if a female in the family suffered. See this link: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/womenshealth/endometriosis.html

Probably not. I just read and article in the LA Times Health Section on this subject. They aren't sure what causes it and they are finding it in younger women (in early teens) It can also be found in nasal passages, tho very rare.
