A mp3 player is basically the same thing except it only accepts mp3's.. an I pod is very popular.. but i haven't got one because i have a rocken cell phone with mp3 in it.. I would say the ipod is great i think they are neat.. but for convenience I like having my phone and music all in one less junk to carry around..

An iPod IS an MP3 player. The only difference between iPods and other MP3 players is the brand name. The same mistake is often made with TiVos and DVR's. A TiVo IS a DVR, just as an iPod IS an MP3 player, but the two brand names have become so popular now that people often believe they are another technology altogether. Don't be fooled. The only difference is that iPods are called iPods, and other assorted MP3 players are called by whichever brand makes them. Simple as that.
(HOWEVER - obviously the user interfaces and some of the features are going to vary from system to system, but the main point I wanted to make was that the iPod IS an MP3 player. It just happens to be the most popular. And therefore, I would recommend it.)

An Ipod is an mp3 player but it is made by Apple and you have to download your music through their Itunes site. Other brands of mp3 players like the Creative Zen Vision: M with 30 GB that my husband has is just as good and holds just as much as it's Ipod counterpart for the same money only you can download your music from a variety of different sites. The quality of it is excellent. Basically you are paying for a name when you buy an Ipod...you spend more money because people sometimes believe it is more trendy to buy something that has a brand name.

All iPods are mp3 players but not all mp3 players are iPods. iPod is just what Apple calls their version of the mp3 player much like Microsoft came out with the ZUNE. iPods are generally better quality and come in several different types (original, Mini, Shuffle, Nano, and video). iPods only down load (legally of course) off of iTunes.

An ipod IS an MP3 player - and it can even play other files like .WAV files [and depending on the model even MPEG-4 files (MOVIES!!!)].
If your looking for an MP3 player, an ipod is probably the best choice.
The ZUNE will probably die off like all of the other ipod clones out there.
Not to mention Apple makes the ipod which is awesome because they are one of the better brands of electronics out there and there customer service is fantastic.

iPod is apple's MP3 player. It can play AAC files, but if you want to play AAC files on another iPod, there's a loophole in iTunes that lets you play it on other MP3 players. Apple will be in big trouble if they remove the feature that made the loophole: CD burning. If they remove it, they can kiss my music buying there goodbye!
