Symbol of loyalty to the Manchurians who ruled China during the Qing Dynasty.

It started when the Manchurians overthrew the Ming Dynasty & establish their kingdom, the queue being of Manchurian style, all men had to keep that hairstyle as a sign of submission to Manchuria or risked getting beheaded for treachery/disloyalty.
