Vinegar will work, however because vinegar is an acid it could eventually deteriorate some car finishes. Assuming you can't find an inexpensive premixed solution in the local supermarket (.99 cents or so a gallon) try using 4 parts water and 1 part rubbing alcohol. This should do the trick and this mix wont hurt your paint. If you are in a colder climate and winter is setting in you should go 3 parts to 1 to avoid any freezing issues. (Be sure to read the label on the alcohol to ensure that it's at least 70% alcohol.)

I can tell ya this from experience DO NOT ADD ANYTHING TO WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID BUT A 50/50 MIX OF WATER if your climate remains above freezing and if not just pure washer fluid. I have added rubbing alcohol only to have it( the smell) come through the vents (defroster) Same thing with vinegar my car stunk. I had to take of the reservoir tank and pump pure water though it to get rid of the smell
