Because there are assholes, idiots, and yes, even pedophiles everywhere, unfortunately. I think the "peacekeepers" who raped little kids should be shot.

Funny, though, how the rape of that poor Iraqi girl by Americans got so much media coverage, yet the UN's baby raping peacekeepers...not so much.

I don't know. I cannot voice an opinion because I have not been there. In a war torn country where stress is running mile high, some things are possible. I don't condone those things, however when tension is high, people do things they would have never done under normal circumstances. In order to judge them rationally you need to have been there and walked in their shoes.
We cannot forget that the insurgents use children and woman to carry out their dirty deeds like suicide bombings and also use them as shields. Think about being a soldier and a little boy comes up to you and then he tosses the granate and even kills himself. The same with a woman, whom you would trust.
So, don't pass judgment on those, let the courts do that.

There are persons who are born to be criminals. Thus, some peacekeepers abuse the people they are supposed to protect because they were given opportunities to do their dastardly acts. The remedy for this kind of irregularity is to strictly implement the psychological tests given to applicants to prevent them from becoming peacekeepers.

They have a certain amount of power that they abuse...not everyone can handle power wisely, and sadly, many use it for their own rediculous ends.
