What kind of magazine is it? If it is a sport magazine try something like "school mascot" Sport. ex. Coyote Sport. If it just concerns your school in general, look through real magazines and find a name that inspires you.

The Dolphinator :) Some serious suggestions: Echo (dolphins use echolocation to communicate. May be you can have a picture of dolphin jumping out of water sound waves coming from its snout. Also, Echo signifies communication.) Purpoise (a play on the word purpose and porpoise) I guess ran out of options! Good luck and so lucky to have a dolphin as the mascot!

Anything as long as it is not obscure. Ours was the Irish Echo. Supposed to be a play on words Echo is an Irish ghost. I did not make the connection till years later.
