How do you remove the neck from a bass guitar?

Without damaging anything? What gets unscrewed first? It's a Fender P Bass.

I'm trying to take it apart so I can repaint the body. I've taken off EVERYTHING except the neck so far.

By the way,why do you have to remove the neck for?Honey,I play bass.Take my advice: don't touch it.Take the bass to some one with experience.A fender is a good instrument.Please,don't do it yourself.OK.

Don't do this your self you might bow the neck. Take it to a music repair store/shop and let them do it. After the neck is removed, it will have to be adjusted so you wont have strings buzzing from a crooked neck.
