I have hyperemisis and my doc has scheduled an amnio in a week ( 35 weeks 3 days) to see if her lungs are fully developed and if so my csection is scheduled for the next day. My youngest now was born that early as well and he had to stay in for 2 weeks and needed surfactent. but boys are slower and we weren't sure on the dates like we are with her! Do you think I will be able to have this baby next week or will I have to wait!! I am tired of EATING THROUGH A TUBE!!

Shots aren't given after 34 weeks becaues they arent' really proven beneficial! I have already researched that and my doc confirmed.

35 weeks the lungs should be developed.
Corticosteroids are considered standard treatment for women who are 24 to 34 weeks pregnant and may deliver within the next 1 to 7 days, with or without preterm premature rupture of membranes (pPROM).3
Betamethasone and dexamethasone are corticosteroids, also called glucocorticoids, that are given before birth (antenatally) to speed up a preterm fetus's lung development. Either is used when a mother is in preterm labor and birth may occur in 24 to 48 hours. This helps prevent the occurrence of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) and related complications following premature birth.
Many infants born at 33 to 34 weeks' gestation have sufficient lung maturity to breathe on their own. However, considering the low-risk, high-benefit nature of this treatment, corticosteroids are typically used up to 34 weeks of pregnancy.

At 35w3d there is still a significant chance that she will need some help with breathing, but she has excellent excellent chances of being okay after she gets the help. There is a steroid shot you can get to help her lungs mature if you want to and your doctor thinks it's a good idea.

I know there is a shot they can give you to help mature the babies lungs. I doubt they are mature enough for delivery but you might be suprised. I dont think there is any sure way to know other then the amnio. Good luck.

devoid of any medicine (steriods) on your baby they're going to be regularly stepped forward at 35 weeks. there's a small probability that your infant might want to might want to be on a ventilator in the well-being facility for a short while. My water broke at 29 weeks and my son change into born at 31 weeks. I had 2 images of steroids earlier he change into born and that is what facilitates strengthen youthful lungs strengthen. He not in any respect had to be on a ventlator, that is uncommon for being born that youthful, yet no matter if he change into he might want to were ok. in addition they stated no matter if I didnt get those images he might want to were ok too. Sorry for any mispelled words, Im on the run yet had to respond to you actual speedy. thanks. Bre's daughter

If the doctors think that your babies lungs are not at full capacity they will give you a steroid injection to strengthen bubs lungs.
I had it when I went into labour at 33 weeks with my 1st, it hurts but it really is best for the baby.
Goodluck :o)

it all depends. But I am sure that the baby should be ok. They say that you can give birth to a infant at 30 weeks and they have a great chance of survival. I bet at 35 weeks you and she should be ok.

Very likely. I went into premature labor and had my son at 34 weeks and he was perfectly healthy. He didnt need any special attention at all and we went home 2 days later. ( Yes ask about the steroid shots)

There is something that they can give you to MAKE her lungs mature quicker. I think it's some sort of hormone. They usually use it in situations like yours. Ask your doctor about it.
