If 6 packages weigh 0.936 LB..

Divide 0.936 by 6.
You get 0.156 LB. Each package weighs 0.156 LB.

To find how much 12 packages weigh, multiply 0.936 by 2.
You get 1.872 LB.

You must use proportions. Since 12 is twice of 6, you must multiply 0.936 by 2 and get the answer for 12 packages. 1 is like 1/6 of 6.. so for 1 you must divide 0.936 by 6. Tell me if you get what i said lol.

Solve for x:
a) 6 packages = 0.936 LB
1 package = x

b) 6 packages = 0.936 LB
12 package = x

ok so:
6 packages=.936lb
1 package=x

label it: packages over pounds so 6/.936=1/x
now cross multiply so 6*x=6x and .936*1=.936
6x=.936 divide by 6 and x=.156
so 1 package equals .156 pounds
now multiply .156 by 12
and 12 packages =1.872 pounds

If six packages weight .936 lbs, then one package will be one sixth of that. Just divide .936 by 6 to get .156 lbs.
If six packages are .936 lbs, then 12 packages would be twice that weight, so just multiply .936 by 2 to get 1.872 lbs.
