since they both equal y then you can set it up as: x+3=2x-4 then you get the x by itself by adding 4 to both sides so you have x+7=2x then you take 1x away from both sides and you get x=7. i don't know where the ten came from...there should only b one answer to this problem as the equations are both straight lines
