I believe so, but don't feed the crickets in your house to your pets. They may be contaminated with chemicals from your yard.

Actually, I used to use the ones from the store and they didn't look exactly the same. The ones that come in the house were darker in color and tended to be much bigger. The ones from the pet store were a lighter brown color and smaller. They didn't appear to have as thick a "shell" as the outdoor ones. Make sure you don't feed a pet crickets that are too large for them, they will have trouble swallowing and digesting them.

NO and NO!

Pet stores provide "farm-raised" crickets. They are bred to they are "clean" and free of disease, parasites and specifically as a food source for reptiles and other critters. Pet store crickets are fed a specific diet that is high in the vitamins and minerals that the critter that eats them needs and is optimal for their digestion.

NEVER - EVER feed outside insects to a pet!
NEVER - EVER feed insects to a pet that you did not personally purchase from a pet store or cricket farmer (yes, that is what they are called)

House crickets are the type of crickets that pet stores sell. These crickets are brown in color. Field crickets are black in color and are not sold in pet stores. It is not recommended that you feed your pet wild-caught crickets because they may be contaminated. Crickets that are sold in pet stores are raised on cricket farms.
