as long as the sweater is dark in color and the jeans are clean and newish.
the fact that you are at the funeral an morning a loss, no one should be looking and critizing your attire. I have a funeral and I will wear black pants and black coat. but that is because I have them, other wise i would were jeans and a black coat.

I think that taking the time to dress up a bit shows respect to the family. You don't have to be fancy, you can wear a simple pair of slacks or a dress. You also don't have to wear black, but the color should not be bright or draw attention. Be conservative (no flashy jewelry, short hemlines, low necklines, sleeveless styles). Even though times have changed, and the rules about funeral attire have loosened a bit, I really think it is a bad idea to wear jeans. The fact that you are unsure enough to ask about it should tell you that other people will think about it too. Why risk offending someone?

Dearest Addison's Mom,
Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.
As for your question: What do you think your friend would want you to wear? Since you are one of the bereaved the only opinions that matter are the immediate and close family and friends. If you are nervous about it, call up one of them and ask if formal attire is expected, or would anyone be offended if you wore the only pants that fit right after the baby. I'm sure they will understand. At the same time, you can express your sincere sympathy, and tell them how much you loved your friend, and how much you will miss them.
I'm sorry for your loss dear. May your friend find peace and contentment in their "afterlife".

Don't wear jeans. Also, the old rules of wearing black or dark colors is outdated. I mean, you don't want to wear a pink dress or anything, but the word should be "conservative". Subtle and subdued colors are good. And wear what you might wear to church or a nice dinner. Dress pants, a nice skirt, a conservative dress, anything like that would work.

Make sure that the sweater is either very dark or gray. I would go for dress pants rather than jeans. You need to look somber and plain, but respectful at the same time.
I hope I helped!

OH BOY DO I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THAT TWICE. IT RELLY ALL DEPENDS ON THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU IF THEY ARE GOING TO BE IN LIKE FORMAL WEAR THAN MABEY YOU SHOULD WEAR SOMTHING LIKE A PAIR OF BLACK PANTS OR BLACK JEANS. THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY REASON I WOULD WEAR SOMETHING DIFFERNT.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE PEOPLE WILL UNDERSTAND THAT YOU JUST HAD A BABY. ACTUALLY YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH QUITE A BIT PEOPLE ARE LIKE "OH SHE JUST HAD A BABY"
I HOPE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AND I AM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

You might want to try a pair of black stretch pants or skirt with a dark sweater, however if the person who passed away was more of a casual type person I don't see anything wrong with what you picked

Sorry to hear of your loss. I guess really it depends on the person who died and what they would think. I guess most people would want someone they were fond of, to be there no matter what they wore. Lots of people nowadays don't even wear black. Your presence is more important that what you're wearing.

black is generally the most appropriate color. if you want to stick with pants, get black slacks worn with a black sweater and shoes. its a dressy-ish event, because if your not dressed to par it may seem "disprespectful". im very sorry for your loss.
