I never liked it. I don't like game shows that don't take brains, I mean, how hard is it to say "Deal...or No Deal"?? I prefer Jeopardy! because I feel good when I get one question right.

Quoting the Asker here:
"I mean just open the friggin case already! That show makes me nuts!"
I think that is kind of the point here...the whole entire *idea* of the show is that it is in fact one HUGE distraction game, one big head-game designed to keep people from picking up on the real meat of the game:
That while specific cases may be randomly assigned to the 26 ladies, *in general* the models are cued as to "good choice" and "bad choice" behavior. Maybe they just get a non-visual cue on the case itself that tells them "big amount", or maybe from where they stand they can see a teleprompter that tells them how to act and react, but somehow they are getting some degree of good/bad call cues.
The meaningful part of the game then becomes about reading those cues off of the models, in terms of how tense their posture and body language is. Their faces show little, but depending on the model the neck and shoulders show a LOT. Everything else about the game is a distraction designed to keep folks from picking up details off of the models. People are encouraged to look around, move around as much as they wanna....but they aren't allowed to *focus* on the job literally in front of them. ;)
But of course the models *themselves* are likely getting false signals, which wouldn't surprise me lately. :( I mean, how else do you explain people going from walking away with five- and six-figure deals to walking away with *ten lousy bucks* and/or Lucky Case games being *not won at all*? It can't be all about the contestants because not everyone was as, um, dumb as that party-animal-Brooks person....I mean, the game switched gears between the Monday prior to the Thanksgiving special and that special *itself*.
And yes, some of the models are harder to read and more Botoxed than others....while some of the more popular ones are getting into *psyching* out the contestants (if the teleprompter they see isn't demanding it, that is).
But still....technically, the game itself, like one Answerer said, isn't *hard* at all, all you need is an eye for detail--things you can see on a *standard definition TV* people--and an ability to stay focused...provided the models themselves aren't being tricked into sending false signals.
I'm not sick of it because I know, once the ratings start to drop and the real-life bankers (note the lower case) stop feeling stingy, the models will get correct cueing again and the game will be playable again. :)

I actually enjoy it, though I don't watch it all the time. I guess if you watched it every week it might get boring after a while. It's amazing how greedy people get on there- the last guy walked away with $10 after turning down a $147,000 deal from the banker. When the contestants get that greedy, they deserve the little money they get.

It isn't the show itself that bothers me, it's the morons they pick for contestants that bother me. They must go to the far corners of the earth to find the most obnoxious people they can possibly get.

Yes, I'm so sick of it. When it first came on, I loved it. Now, it just drags on and on and they never get anywhere. It just angers me and I change the channel.
