I need to know what the formula is to find the perimeter of a square...and the formula to find the area of a square...! i know one of them is = h x l (height times length) and the other is 4 x S (side)

perimeter is 4 x side (only if this is a square). for a rectangle it is 2xh + 2xl.

area of a rectangle is h x l. for a square since height is equal to length, it is simply l x l

Each side of a square is of length l; then the perimeter is 4l.
The area A = l^2

4 x S is the perimeter
l x w (length times width) is the area

perimeter of a square = 4s = s+s+s+s
area = s x s = h x l

Area: Side A^2

don't be alarmed. It is very easy. Area is l x w. Perimiter is l + w x 2

4s is perimeter
hxl is area
