i listen to eminem, hinder, and papa roach cuz i relate to them also simple plan. My friend say this makes me punk and i should dress it i dont what u think?

Well what people usually prefer in music is because they can relate to it. Now the beat came all be different. I am considered punk. Personally, eminem is no where near punk. And hinder is more of Adult Contemporary. But music tastes differ upon individual. And you can like some rap and like heavy metal to. Really it all depends on my mood. By the way Papa Roach...nice =] You wanna check out some good punk rock bands?

what? first off your friend is wrong none of them are punk music so you arent a "punk". and dont change the way you dress or act because someone said one thing that just makes you a shallow follower. Be a leader!!!!
i relate to the music i listen to some times. mostly not the words but the tempo and the tone but the lyrics are a part of it. i listen to metal like Cannibal Corpse Slipknot Cradle of Filth and many many many many other metal subgeneras along with techno irish folk some other european folk and random songs from random generas. but it all depends on the mood im in.

I listen to My Chemical romance, AFI, and Simple Plan. I totally relate to all of them really well- especially AFI.
Take advice from this Davey havok quote(lead singer in AFI)
Do what you feel is right for you, no matter what. Believe in yourself, no matter how many people tell you that you're f***** up, do what you have to do. AS LONG as it doesn't infringe on other people's happiness.
Don't listen to your friend- he's not really a friend if he can't accept u. However, I've been thinking about dressing a little more punk, too. I'm getting one of those studded belts soon.
Just do what feels right, and you can't go wrong.

I like all sorts of music except country but my favorite are hip hop, r&b, pop, rock and I dont really relate to the music I'm listening to cuz thats kinda stupid to do that just to relate the music ur listening to...my point is u should dress the way u feel comfortable..if u want to dress the way u relate to ur music thats ur decision

No, none of those bands are punk. Simple Plan is pop punk, but pop punk are boy bands with guitars.
But yes, I relate to alot of the metal music I listen to.

I think i relate to the music I listen to. It doesn't mean i need to dress that way. It just means I relate to the lyrics. I wouldn't change who I am/what I wear to match the music I listen to.

I don't think that your friend was correct in saying that it makes you punk.
Punk is more of a way of life than a fashion.
But if you want to "dress" punk, just start out by making your own clothes or buying cheap clothes.
So... your friend is kinda dumb... and you shouldn't listen to them.

you dont have to dress for whatever you listen to. You can dress however you want its just that other people like to follow the herd and be like everyone else. If it was like that who knows what i would have to dress like! I listen to everything from Red hot chili peppers to Snoop dog, to Rick James and Metallica

You don't need to dress accordingly to the type of music you listen to. Let your friends think what they want, you're the only person who knows who you are so you're the only one who can make that decision.

i'm almost like you but i hear Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Blink 182, Hinder, ...etc and some of my friends thinks i'm obsess with them but i don't care hey i love their song its their opinon!!
