I breed Bearded Dragons, they make great pets. However if you do not have plenty of free time to socialize your beardie, they wont be a good pet and may bite. You have to get them used to hands and people, they are sometimes scared of things that are much larger than them, like us. I suggesst you get your beardie young, so that you can tame it. Also you need a reserve of money for beardies. They are expensive. They need a terrarium that is at least 75 gallons when they are full grown, the smallest tank you should ever have them in is 20 and definatley not for long, small cages can stunt their growth while they are young. I reccomend purchasing a 75 gallon terrarium with dividers, or make your own dividers out of card board and move them as your beardie grows. When you feed them live food, yes you have to feed them live food, you can move them to a smaller enclosure. The best thing to do is read up on how to take care of them. You will spend a good deal of money on the cage and specific lighting for your beardie. They must have a basking spot that is at least 95 to 100 degrees. Visit sunshinedragons.com to see how the terrariums are set up and get some info on how to care for your beardie. Also check out bigappleherp.com for cages food, and supplies. I hope this helps, they make great pets if you have the time and money for them.

They are one of the best pets. They don't get big, only about 18 inches or so, so you don't need to keep buying larger tanks, they are usually pretty content to hang out on your shirt, and they don't run real fast if they get away from you. They east crickets, hard boiled eggs and the pellet food you can get almost anywhere. A heat lamp, water dish and a substrate you can sift like a kitty litter once a week and you are ready to go. They are pretty hardy and last for many years. Lots of luck.

I think they do. My daughter had a child in her class that had one. The father brought it in the class and had all the kids sit in a big circle on the floor. The dragon walked from child to child wanting to be petted.
They are not the cutest things around...but it sure was friendly.

Love him to loss of existence, could in no way think of two times approximately getting him. yet his existence has been complicated. each thing began off valuable and delicate. He replaced into approximately six months previous on the time, appeared be energetic and healthy (hadnt yet eaten plenty yet I figured it replaced into via stress). He got here from a acquaintances toddler who had grown bored with Tobey. a pair days after bringing him domicile, i got here upon him very torpid, nevertheless hadn't eaten, so I extra my variety new infant to the vet, in basic terms to locate he had 2 different parasites, a calcium deficiency, and mouth rot. Over the months, I honestly have slowly nursed him returned to wellbeing, yet he's at present on liquid nutrition that ought to be fed to him, and that i've got spent lots of time and cash. only word of what you will desire to be entering into. This is going for any puppy.

They make nice pets. Ours will stay on our chest or shoulder and cuddle. He is very sweet. He has never bitten anyone. They do need special "things" so be sure to research them before you get one. Also..check into rescuing one instead of buying one at the petstore.

I think they are great if you are looking for a social reptile. They are the best way to go. But you cannot leave them in a cage all the time and not socialize them, they love people.

Get a 50 or bigger acrilic aquarium and you will never ned a bigger one, unless you want it.
Acrilic is cheaper and lighter and most lickley wont break if it falls.
My beardie has never bitten anyone.
Not even when force feeding.
Just make sure you do your research.
