I've seen it many times too. Loved it. Those were the days when kids were kids and something like viewing a dead body beside the train tracks was a big adventure. Too bad so much has changed, the story line in this movie is wonderful.

Its an oldie but goodie taking me back to my pre-teen days. Its based on a short story by Stephen King called, "The Body" which is kind of surprising. Also, River Phoenix (he's the cute blond with the brush cut) died in the early 90s from a drug overdose in front of The Viper, a club in L.A. owned by Johnny Depp at the time. Just some trivia....

fantastic movie, and really showed off what these kids as future big actors had to offer. I still find it amusing that a lot of people didnt know it was from Stephen King. That shows the quality of the story, that you actually lose interest in WHO wrote it. (Since a lot of movies these days play on the "from the author of ..." tag). Rob Reiner did an excellent job directing. I could have done without the pie puke story... but thats only cuz I have a weak stomach for that sort of thing. lol!

That was probably my favorite movie next to Terms of Endearment. You know the little chubby kid is the good looking guy that plays on Crossing Jordan. I don't watch Crossing Jordan much, but I think he's the cop. It was a fantastic movie that I can watch over and over again.

It's a great movie and a classic. I love the story that was told about the pie eating contest, and one person threw up and had the whole audience barfing....so gross!!!
More trivia: River Phoenix's brother is Joaquin Phoenix he played Johnny Cash in Walk the Line..

It's a classic. One of the better movies made out of a Stephen King book. Great actors too, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Keifer Sutherland.
Did you know the dead kid is John Cusack?

Well, I'm a female and I've seen the movie several times. It's a great movie but I don't care for the leech scene or the train scene. But overall, it's good!!!

Read the story, saw the movie, loved it then love it now.
Good to know you have discovered it. Stephen King doesn't only write horror. This is truely a coming of age story.

This is one of the best coming of age movies ever! Most all of us can remember that one special adventure we had with our friends and how much it meant to us. If only we could go back to the good days of life. Take care!

I watched it a couple months ago. It's a great movie. I hadn't seen it in years... I think I was about 12. I had a whole different perspective on it watching it as an adult.
