if u have used it on a cradle or something like that it might cause the connection to get loose between the computer and the ipod, try wiggling it until the light comes on in the screen.....even if wiggling it does work i would send it right back to wherever i bought it!!!!

This might not be your problem but maybe it is. I assume your ipod charges using your PC USB port and the USB connection cable that came with your ipod. I found that, if the computer goes to sleep, power to the USB port is turned off. So your ipod will no longer charge. While you are charging your ipod, turn off the power saving/sleep functions on your PC so your computer will not go to sleep.

Take it to an Apple store (or call the 800 number in your warranty information) and have it serviced/replaced under warranty.
You can also go to http://www.apple.com/support/ipod

Sometimes batteries go bad before their time. You're lucky that yours went out under warrannty.
