if u know the email address of ur sister u can send her mail from any websites, like msn,rediff,gmail etc...
if u r talking bout messenger like yahoo messenger , windows messenger, rediff bol messenger then u have to sign up at the concerned site for this service.....
for example : if ur sister's msngr address is xyz@hotmail.com
then u use the windows messenger software
if u r not satisfied then pls provide more details so that we can under stand ur problem more clearly....
i repeat.....if u know ur sister's email address then yahoo wont create any problem.....if u dont know that....then try to view ur sister's profile by entering the visit profile option into msngr....then try to find out another e-mail address if provided by ur sister...

Now why would anyone want to leave Yahoo!?
If you are using Yahoo! as your home page or default search engine you are probably better staying with Yahoo! mail as one sign in activates them all.
Alternatively, I would use the email of my ISP....

No u can not substitute ur e mail handle. U can create an added e mail handle by using clicking recommendations in Yahoo Mail domicile web site after verify in. yet u can not substitute ur first one bcaz it is accepted.
