Does modern life-prolonging technologies make "Survival of the fittest" obselete? (Now the "weak" survive and breed due to modern medicines, surguries, etc.)

Can "survival of the fittest" be too successful, and cause a life form to become too specialized to adapt to a rapidly altered environment? (like reptiles in an ice age)

What are the limits of "survival of the fittest"? At what point does evolution give way to catastrophic life form changes (like dinosaur extinction)

something that would want to study a genetic (guy) reason verses an environmental (nature) one . in case you search for something finished on twin study you'll come across a large style of sturdy solutions/questions for a paper.
