Is travelling as a tourist to Iran more difficult if you are jewish?

Family members (male and female) will be travelling there in the spring of 2007.

Honestly, it depends on what capacity you are travelling and how open you are with your Judaism. Right now, it's dangerous for Americans to go to Iran at all; although if you know locals that can meet you at the airport and basically be your chaperones you should be ok. If you're not American (don't know if you are or not) you're probably a bit safer. I wouldn't wear anything that would set you apart as Jewish, such as a Magen David pendandt or a yarmulke (which of course, you wouldn't but others in your family might). If you're Hasidic, you may have alot more problems there than you'd realize.

Also, not everyone in Iran is as fanatical as the ones seen in the media. If you stick to just looking like a westerner, you should get along fine. You may encounter some rudeness here or there, but most everyday people should be ok with you.
