Cut it to size (obviously lol) then smear a very thin layer of vaseline or mineral oil on the outside of the back of the tank. Place the background over that and smooth it out with a credit card to get the air bubbles out. It'll bond quite well but it'll be easy to remove if ever you need to (so never use glue).

You can just cut it to size and tape the sides to the back of the tank, but the background will end up looking darker because of the light refracting. And if any water falls behind, it will make water spots between the glass and the background.

wipe over it with a wet cloth, it will cling to the back of the glass, then smooth it over to get any air bubbles out. Thats how i did mine. Wet the glass as well. If the thingy you are talking about is the 'background picture'.

Cut it to the right length. Then spread Vaseline on the back of your tank(outside of the tank). Spread it like you would put butter on a piece of bread. Then put the backing on. Use a squeegee if you have one or something flat, like a ruler, to push the bubbles out. Then tape the sides with clear tape.

Use clear tape to attach the background to your tank. Regular scotch tape will do the job. Sometimes it helps to have a helper assist you in this.

Let me get this right you know the general name of the plant. Well the only thing I can think that would help you is if they give the scientific name for it then that will make your research a lot easier. Then all you will have to do is type that name in and you should get information specifically about that plant.
