tightening belts?

how do you go about tightening belts in a 2002 gmc sierra 5.3 V-8??

You are right, they have tensioners. Also has 2 belts if it has a/c.

since is a serpentine belt it shouldnt need tightened..theres a belt tensioner with an idler pully on it, that should keep the tension. (someone correct me if im wrong)

you shouldn't have to tighten them, there is a tensoner on a serpentine belt that automatically does that.
