/8 time signatures are not like 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4. It is up to the musician a lot more.

Usually there will be three strongs beats counted

1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2-3 with the first note being stressed

There are many ways of counting it and dividing the notes, that is just a common one.

I think it is on the first, fourth and seventh notes.
