If the Canadians had not become involved in the fighting in 1939 I question whether Great Britain could have held out until Pearl Harbor brought America into the conflict. Not meaning to in any way diminish the iron resolve of the English people I think England would have been brought to the brink of starvation by the German U-Boat campaign without the Royal Canadian Navy patrolling their half of the Atlantic. England simply did not have the naval strength to cover all the sea lanes and once the French had surrendered in 1940 England would have stood alone. Aside from Australia and New Zealand, who will always have your back but are on the wrong side of the world, England wouldn't have had an ally anywhere on the Atlantic. If it really seemed that England was going to give up the fight against the Nazis it's possible that American President Roosevelt might have intervened before Pearl Harbor happened but there was a strong isolationist movement in America that he would have had to deal with.
Without the Royal Canadian Navy escorting the convoys and thereby freeing the Royal Navy for offensive operations, Canadian industry and farming producing for the war effort and Canadian shipping carrying the product of those farms and factories to England, not to mention the contribution of the Canadian Army bolstering the British forces, the war might have been very different indeed.

If Canada had not been involved the British could not have held out against the Germans. Canada was the main supplier for the British till 1941 when the U.S became involved officially into the WWII. Europe would have been a different place if the the Britain had fallen ,because then Hitler could have then turned his attention fully to Joseph Stalin and the U.S.S.R. That in all probablity would have been quite the bloody war and in the long run it more than likely would have bled Western Europe under Hitler dry and it would have become ripe for the taking of Stalin. But since Canada supported the British Empire in there time of need this did not come to be.

The outcome of WW ll would be the same. I'm not saying that to belittle the Canadians or anyone else. The Canadians did a great job in fighting for world peace.

Canada was definately a big help and if Canada had joined the other side, there would have been a big difference. However if Canada had played neutral, the war would have ended much the same. The biggest reason the Nazis lost was Hitler was stupid and attacked the Russians. It is nearly impossible to win a war with fighting on TWO SIDES!

One thing is for certain.
Canadian soldiers, men and women are remembered to this day by the people of Poland. The Canadians liberated the people of Poland. There are war memorials today in Poland recognizing and appreciating the help of Canadians.

It is impossible to tell now, but probably the same. US and Canada certainly did a great part, especially with supplies. One mistake that some fanatics keep repeating is thinking they can conduct a war in Russia in winter, haha. Most people who don't know what it's like don't realize that they don't know how to function in that climate. Hitler didn't learn Napoleon's lesson, apparently. Yeah, he thought that the war will be over in just a few months, but that didn't happen.

I don't believe the outcome would be different substantively, because Canadian participation had no effect on the United States' decision to drop the atomic bomb on Japan. The war ended only days after the bombs had fallen, and Canada played no role in the decision-making process to drop the bomb.

That would be impossible to answer. However I would add That Canada joined the fight long before America & that America refused to help out until they personally were attacked (Pearl Harbour)

Yes go ahead & give this thumbs down. Truth is hard to hear sometimes.

Since Canada had the second largest armed forces on the Allied side (next to Britain), the Allies would have lost.

And please spare us all this "America won" rubbish. America didn't even enter the war until Britain and Canada had already basically won it.
