Does anyone know a way to transfer the full soundtrack from a DVD onto a CD? I have a few live concerts on DVD that I would really like to listen to on CD and have no idea how to do it. Is there a company that offers this sort of service, or software available? Many thanks :)

Yep. But it would be rather difficult. You see, the music is put in with the foley--the sound effects, talking and stuff--any audio software that'll rip out the music will take all your other audio with it. If you don't mind that, you can download a trial version of Adobe Audition and choose the "take audio from video" option in the file menu. If you can't find a trial version of that, try Cool Edit Pro. It's the same program, just a couple years older. Save the waveform file as an MP3 and presto!

If you don't want to do that or you want an audiophile to edit some stuff out of it, put an ad up on craigslist. You'll find a bunch of folks who will probably be able to do it.

Try this.

1: Put the DVD into your computer.
2: hitch a speaker cord into the computer's headphone/line out jack, then hitch the other end up to the microphone jack. Turn down the volume to 1 notch in volume control so it doesn't overload and distort the sound recorder.
3: Use a sound recorder to record the soundtrack

NOTE: you will not be able to hear the soundtrack when it's recording.

There probably is a software, but you also could just buy/download the soundtrack itself.
