Depends. There are super smart females but there are also super smart males. The same can go for dumb males and females. So I'd have to say that no gender is smarter than the other.

Sex differences in problem solving have been systematically studied in adults in laboratory situations. On average, men perform better than women at certain spatial tasks. In particular, men seem to have an advantage in tests that require the subject to imagine rotating an object or manipulating it in some other way. They also outperform women in mathematical reasoning tests and in navigating their way through a route. Further, men exhibit more accuracy in tests of target-directed motor skills--that is, in guiding or intercepting projectiles.
Women, on average, excel on tests that measure recall of words and on tests that challenge the person to find words that begin with a specific letter or fulfill some other constraint. They also tend to be better than men at rapidly identifying matching items and performing certain precision manual tasks, such as placing pegs in designated holes on a board.
So can you say that either gender is definitively smarter that that the other? Most certainly not. It's like the old debate about whether cats or dogs are smarter. Men and women are simply different.

the answer is men. im not saying this because im a guy but because i researched peoples :). but this is a silly question lol because who really gives a crap whether the genders are better than each other because if we fight then we dont make kids and we all die. but on average men have 5 points more on I.Q. tests, and this is likely true for many reasons. but men and women are good at different areas like men are really good at sports and mechanics. women have good handwriting and are clean. so just REMEMBER TO CHOOSE THE BEST ANSWER hint hint
but also i looked through the other people's answers and i found that most of the women didnt even research or give explanations but just said women because thats what gender there in. Thats not really good thinking because thats bias and you need to know your facts. shame on you women :!

ive heard there are more women in the "normal" genius range of 150-170 IQ and more men in the high genius range of 170+ IQ but this study was probably bullshit. i'd say that men have a slight advantage on old-skool type IQ tests, but woman can do other things a bit better than men.
