I would suggest that you seek another ophthalmologist's opinion. I don not think that you have a detached retina, as you would have seen flashes of light or major floaters, and if it is, you have already passed the time line to have that repaired. But...something is definitely going on, and if the doctors that you have seen can not explain it to you, then you need to find one that can. I would suggest that you do wear your glasses when you are awake, until you find those answers, it is possible that your vision has changed enough to need glasses for everyday use. It sounds to me like you may have experienced a muscle spasm, and if that is the case, you need to figure out what is causing this, but nevertheless, if you are feeling pressure and discomfort you need to seek an ophthalmologist....not an optometrist. They will need to dilate you so they can look at the back of your eye, and possible take some special pictures of your eye. Good luck and remember no question should go unanswered.

Gosh, I'm am so sorry this happened to you. Not fair! I don't have the magic answer. It sounds like you've gotten plenty of medical advice yet you're not happy with what they have told you. And that is OK. Go to another doctor, if you are in a smaller town search for the very best ophoomologist there is, the very best and go see them.

Try to find out if there is a really good retina specialist in your area. My mother suffered something similar (she kept saying it felt like sand in her eye) and turns out she had retinal bleeding which has caused her to loose 60% vision in that eye. With the symptoms you have given it sounds like there is something going on in the eye and you need to see someone soon. Don't take the risk of loosing any vision in that eye. Best of wishes to you.

From your explanation, it sounds like you pulled a muscle in your eye cup. Well what I would do is increase my health so the muscle would heal. I would only eat organic eggs, fresh fruit, spring water, fresh vegetables, real fruit juice drinks and whole grain breads for at least two weeks.

Get a second opinion from a specialist.
That is not normal...I don't mean to worry you, but a "detached retina" comes to mind. If it is a detached retina, it will get worse if you dont see a doctor.

Dear lord! Your eyeballs cracked? I'm just glad to hear you only need glasses. I didn't know eyes could do that. Please tell me....were you actually looking at something, or were you just straining your eyes for the heck of it?

Good Luck. You've done all you can do unless you see a specialist.
