Is it a joke ? Shanda. Hemisphere (Greek I believe, hemi for half and sphere for ball)=half a sphere. So the earth like any globe has only two hemis. The earth`s are known as boreal, northern, and austral, southern hemispheres and are separated by the equator line. Only if you stood astride the equator could you live in two hemispheres at a time

Well 'hemi' is greek in origin and means two so there aren't even 4 hemispheres, just north and south. Anything north of Panama or the sahara is in the northern hemisphere so I guess that makes me a northerner

arent there only 2 HEMISPHERES? i live in the northern one. maybe ur thinking of the tropic of cancer and capricorn and the equator.
