I have a business concept but I need to find ways to make myself more appealing to investors.

You need to research the investors and find out what appeals to them. If you can, visit their businesses & web-sites to get a feel for how they operate. Look at mission & vision statements and try to gain a sense of their businesses from what you see.

Tailor your presentation to meet those criteria that you develop through your research. If most of your investors are tech savy, design an electronic presentation with good effects and imagery that they will see as positive. If they are low key, invite them to a golf game & use a more basic presentation. Use different approaches for different kinds of investors. Cast a wide net & be ready for rejection.

You don't say much about the business concept or your location, so it's difficult to give specific advice. However, it's much like marketing any product or service - know your customer!

It really depends on the concept. If it is bad, than it is going to be hard to appeal to any investor at all. If it's a good concept, than it may just be in your presentation. Without really knowing what the concept is, it's hard to give you advice. I understand that you do not want to post your idea all over the net either. I suggest asking a close friend, one whom you are sure will not steal your idea. That way, being close to you anyway, they will tell you if it's a horrible idea.
